Charges Laid After Incident Involving Former Bodyguard of Drake at Burlington Gym

A video showing a physical altercation at a Burlington gym has led to charges against a former bodyguard of rapper Drake. The incident occurred at Pure Muscle + Fitness, where Mike Van Wyck was seen allegedly assaulting fellow bodybuilder Jeff Nippard. The Halton Regional Police reported that Van Wyck, 43, has been charged with two counts of assault. The gym has stated it has a zero-tolerance policy for violence and has removed Van Wyck’s access to their facility. Nippard, who sustained injuries, has since expressed his concern regarding the incident, stating it stemmed from a disagreement over training methods.
