On November 7, 2024, two suspects, Jayden Batiste (18) of Vaughan and Dyante Johnson (18) of Brampton, were arrested in connection with a violent home invasion in Oakville. At around 2:25 a.m., the suspects broke into a residence on Bellwood Avenue, assaulted the male resident, and stole his car keys, which led to the theft of a Mercedes sedan parked in the driveway. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized. Following an investigation, the suspects were apprehended later that day in Toronto while occupying the stolen vehicle. They face multiple charges including aggravated assault, robbery, break and enter, and vehicle theft. The police are still seeking additional suspects and continue to investigate the incident.
